When my mother moved to an Assisted living facility, I was already exhausted and thoroughly stressed from the decision, the move and the general family dynamics involved with such an event. Because I live in Anchorage, Alaska, that meant many long trips to Southern California which added to the complications.

The next mountain to face was selling the family home of 57 years. It was critical that we got top dollar for the house because we needed the funds to keep Mom in the very nice facility wo which she had moved. Many people recommended that I sell the house myself and not involve a real estate professional to "save money." Fortunately, I decided to interview a few real estate sales persons--each from top brand, national companies. Cheryl & Joe Melendez stood out of the crowd. They were personal, interested in our unique situation, yet very professional and gave clear, precise information. Never at any time did they pressure or make me uncomfortable. Nor did they seem to "promise me the moon" with unrealistic statements.

After engaging their services, every detailed was managed on time, with thoroughness, and an occassional helping hand in unique ways. They set-up a communication flow to me in Alaska that kept me in the loop at all times. The mountain of paperwork was reduced to efficient explanations and they kept things swiftly moving through the right channels. Both Joe and Cheryl returned my calls with equal speed and enthusiasm. Although I called them far too many times, they never responded as if they were bothered by my questions.

The house sold the very first weekend at a very good price. I grew to be more and more comfortable with their knowledge and energy to move the project along.

The entire experience, though naturally stressful and worrisome, was a pleasant experience that I would be glad to repeat with Joe and Cheryl Melendez.

I must take this opportunity to tell you what an amazing job Cheryl Melendez did in getting this La Habra Heights property sold. At the time Cheryl agreed to be the seller's agent on this property, I warned her the sale of this property would be difficult because the property was ordered sold by the court and the owner was less than pleased. That being said, I could not have imagined just how impossible this sale would become. I cannot believe that any agent would have stuck through the harrassment, threats, and stonewalling from the owner; the trashing of the property by the owner and/or other vandals; the pending foreclosure; and the necessity of having the court execute the sales documents - twice. Cheryl did!
